Solar Water Heaters
Solar makes sense only for some people. They are certainly a good way show your green colors! Solar panels are an investment, and as utility prices continue to rise, solar technologies make more and more sense.

In addition to rebates that the federal government offers, most states are also beginning to offer their own rebate program.

Solar technologies are typically very low maintenance, and yes, there is a back-up when it is a cloudy day!

Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless water heaters are great if you are able to plan ahead when you are remodeling or building a new home.

A tankless water heater can cost a little bit more when you are looking to replace an existing water heater, but can save you lots of money in energy saved. This is because water is heated only when you use the hot water. So don’t expect to be able to have everything in the house running hot water at the same time – for instance, if you have an extra visitor.

It is important to choose an appropriately sized model, and some people might even need more than one unit. A tankless water heater will not provide instant hot water, if it took 5 min to get hot water at your furthest bath, nothing will change. But you can add a recirculation pump to bring you that hot water more quickly.

Gas Water Heaters
Gas water heaters are better than electric water heaters. They provide almost endless water and last much longer. You will be very happy with a gas water heater.

You can add a recirculation pump and save water, while also lowering your gas bill. Did you know that the average household wastes about 13.5 gallons of water in 5 minutes… Think about it. A recirculation pump will pay for itself very quickly and you will be on with your day much sooner.

Electric
Water Heaters
An electric water heater is better than nothing - it will definitely give you hot water. However, the hot water does not last as long, and it will just be something you have to live with.

In addition, electric water heaters have shorter life spans and require more maintenance. As long as you treat it well by maintaining it – it will do what it was designed to do.

Name Brand or Generic?
In most cases, quality is always found in the name brand – like Brandford, White and American.

Did you know that we still manufacture water heaters here in the Good ‘ol U.S. o f A. You are always going to pay a little bit more for a name brand because of the quality that is associated with it. These water heaters tend to last longer, and parts are much easier to find.

For those of you who want to spend less, it is O.K. to go with a ‘Generic’ manufacturer, but it is often the case that you sacrifice comfort for price.

Water heaters capacities range from 5-Gal. all the way up to 120-Gal. for most homes and condos. These water heaters come Tall – Short – Wide – ect. Designed for different size spaces.
